Submission guidelines for Authors

 

Please carefully read the regulation before submitting an abstract.

The congress accepts only the ABSTRACTS in English (UK). The following items should be considered at the time of preparation: (Download Template)

  • Platform: Microsoft Word: .doc, .docx or .rtf
  • Page size: A4;
  • Margins: 2 cm from all sides;
  • Font: Times New Roman;
  • Title: p. 14, Bold;
  • Author(s): p. 12. the name of the presenting author should be underlined.
  • Affiliation: p. 10, italic, including the e-mail address of each author.
  • Main text: p. 12, minimum 200 and maximum 400 words, including brief Background/Introduction; aim and scope; Methods; Results and Conclusion
  • Keywords: up to 7 words, sorted alphabetically in small letters, p. 10.

Contents

The submitted abstracts must be non-published data, the original idea, new findings, and an improvement or revision of previous work. Submitted abstracts should not be published in any other journals and/or online publications or presented at national and international congresses, prior to IICE4. 

All abstracts must be submitted in English using UK English spelling with accurate grammar and spelling suitable for publication. Presentation and Interactions will be conducted in English, so the presenters are expected to speak in good English. Limit the use of acronyms and abbreviations. Place abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.

Authorships and presenting

The first author should be the oral or poster Presenter by default (under some circumstances it can be transferred to one of the co-authors by permission. The number of abstracts is limited to a maximum of one per each (oral) presenting author.  Furthermore, an author can only be a co-author in another (oral) abstract twice. It means an author can only be involved in three abstracts, once as first author and two as co-author. Additionally accepted abstracts will therefore be presented as posters only (up to three posters per Presenter). A personal photograph of the presenter (dimension 3*4  cm, resolution of 150 dpi) should be supplemented at the time of registration. The presenter is responsible for registration and payments.

Make sure you have entered the full list of authors and check that the information given for each author is correct, at the time of submission. The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission. Authors warrant their works to the IICE4, that all authors have participated in and agree with the content and conclusions of the work, and that the work is original and does not infringe upon any copyright, proprietary, or personal right of any third party.

All possible potential conflicts of interest must be stated at the time of acceptance of the presentation. It is the responsibility of the presenter to disclose any potential conflict(s) of interest from co-authors. The submission extracted from the copyrighted works should be fully authorised by the copyright holders.

Submission

Abstracts must be submitted via the 4th IICE Abstract Submission platform. Abstracts sent by email will not be considered. Failure to upload and register for Congress by the set deadline will result in the withdrawal of the abstract from the scientific programme. Once submitted, it is not possible to make further corrections to the abstract including title, authors’ affiliations, main text, etc...). In order to correct your abstract, you must withdraw it and re-submit a new version prior to the deadline.  If you want to withdraw an abstract please notify us at 4iice@razi.ac.ir

Peer-Review

Submissions are peer-reviewed for scientific content and the current interest of the topic to the scientific community. At least two independent anonymous experts are reviewing the submitted abstracts.

Publication

All presented abstracts will be published in the Proceeding ebook of IICE4. The content belongs to the author(s) and will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. By default, it will be the first author of the abstract will receive a certificate.

Full-length papers with accepted abstracts can be considered for publication in the following journals, owned by the Entomological Society of Iran.
